OCCOutdoors has always done their very best to meet our customers request. Special paint color is one of the most frequent request, and we usually do meet these needs. But it's not always easy. Read onward to better understand the challenges involved with these special requests:
A Maximum of Minimums
OCCOutdoors has hundreds of colors available; however, the challenge is we must buy minimum quantities. These minimum quantities can range from 25-100 pounds for standard RAL colors. Custom blended colors can take up to 250 pounds. Standard RAL colors have a wide range of prices from as low as 3-4 dollars per pound up to $15-$20 for custom blends.
A typical trash receptacle takes 1-2 pounds of powder; benches, 2-3 pounds. So when a customer requires a special RAL color it can be done at a reasonable cost if the volume is high enough to utilize the amount of paint that must be purchased.
In other words, if the paint is a standard RAL color, is available in a 25 pound box, and you need 15 trash receptacles — there is no problem.
The problem comes for smaller orders. If you only need the color for 5 trash receptacles, we still have to buy a full box. But any unused powder has to be disposed within 6 months. We'd be throwing away over two-thirds of unused product!
Also OCCOutdoors prefers to use only Super TGIC power coat paint witch is typically $1-2 more per pound than regular TGIC. We choose to only use Super TGIC for its superior durability and fade resistance.
